Superhero Synonyms

I just loved my superhero clip art from KPM Doodles that I decided to create another activity with it!  I decided to create Superhero Synonyms!

When building vocabulary, it is important to learn synonyms. This helps with understanding and improves verbal expression. Many students use the same words to describe. You can use this pack to help understand that many words can mean the same thing and can make our stories more interesting!
First, I have matching cards with common synonym pairs.  They can be used for drilling, memory or go fish.  All you have to do is print, glue to card stock or index cards and laminate.
You may have seen ideas floating around Pinterest of "dead" or "boring" words.  I created a sorting activity to practice this skill.  I took common "boring" words and made sorting cards.  You can use a file folder or just laminate and place along therapy table.  Students can draw the cards and match to the best synonym.  Can they replace those words in sentences??

I took a game board and make task cards.  Students can read or you can read it to them to work on auditory comprehension.  Can they replace the underlined word?  I provided choices but you can let them try and guess on their own first.  Can they guess which word in the sentence is underlined?   All you have to do is print, glue game board to file folder, laminate game board and task cards, and you are ready to grab your game pawns and dice/spinner!
I love to have  review worksheet related to the theme.  You can use this once all the other activities are completed or as homework after the first task.  Students just need to draw a line to the synonym pairs.  There are two different worksheets in this pack.

I hope you can find this activity pack useful as you plan for your school year.  Let me know what you think!  Here is another link to my TpT store.
