Ice Cream Conjunctions!!

My Spaghetti and Meatball Conjunctions activity has been a HUGE hit!!  Many of you have requested more activities like it!  Well, you asked, I listened!  This time, I targeted the complex conjunctions: unless, despite, and yet!!  Have fun learning, practicing, and using these conjunctions with an ice cream themed activity pack!

In this file:
-Visual to teach the conjunctions

-Cloze Sentence Card Game:  Students will pick a card and complete the sentence using the appropriate conjunction.  Students can use the visual to help them.  If they pick the “sweet tooth” card, they will get an extra turn.  The student with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner.

-Sentence Combining Fun:  Students will pick a card and read the two sentences provided.  They must understand the relationship between the two sentences in order to combine them using one of the target conjunctions.  Each card has a point value.  At the end of the game, the students can add up their points to determine a winner!

-Practice Worksheet: Students will practice and review their understanding of the conjunctions to complete cloze sentences provided.

-Writing Conjunctions:  Students will look at the picture.  Then they will be able to write sentences using the conjunctions unless, yet, and despite.
