Category Playground! QR Code Fun!

Have fun working on naming categories and listening for items that go together using categorization with this fun QR code activity!

Use with any QR scanning app on your device (iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch).  I suggest the ‘Scan’ app for the iPad.

2 levels of game cards included!  Basic and more advanced vocabulary!
Basic: clothing, animals, etc.

Advanced: planets, directions, landforms, etc.

Students can listen or read the cards, identify the three items that go together and express the category.  They can check their work using  the QR code provided.

Watch out for the "lose a turn" cards!  The student with the most cards at the end of the game is the winner.

A graphic organizer is provided to help students focus their listening/reading for the items that go together and then generate their category response.  This can be helpful with groups so all members of the group participating in the game activity can complete the graphic organizer while another student reads and responds aloud.
