MLK Speech & Language Activities!

I have received requests for activities for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  I took the activities that you seem to enjoy and included them in this fun-filled pack!
It is a great way to incorporate classroom curriculum into speech sessions!

In this file:

-Vocabulary cards:  Terms are on one card and definitions are on another.  This way you can use as memory matching, drill, review, etc.

-Complete the sentence card game:  Students must complete the sentences using the vocabulary from the first activity.  There are choices provided to assist.  If they select the card, “Freedom,” they get an extra turn!  The student with the most cards at the end is the winner.

-True or false:  Board game is provided.  Students must read the statements on each game card and determine if it is true or false based on their knowledge of Martin Luther King, Jr. and history.

-Articulation practice:  Each card has a bus with a number on it.  This number can represent the amount of productions the student must do of the target on the card.  They can also receive that many points once they produce their target sound correctly.  The student with the most points at the end is the winner!

Target sounds included:
-/ng/ in the final position
-/th/ initial, medial, and final
-/r/ initial, medial, and final
-/l/ initial, medial, and final
-/k/ initial, medial, and final

I hope you find this pack useful in targeting a variety of necessary skills!  You can access this download HERE!

I hope you like the fact that I combined the speech & language activities to help keep the prices down!  The graphics were hard to find and were a bit pricey!
