Do you love my Sequencing Stories for the entire year?! Well....another version is now available (and I am SO excited about it!) Another goal that I find my students have a hard time carrying over into the classroom is compare/contrast. They do not recognize how to read a text and recognize that two characters, objects, places, or ideas are being compared. Well, I created a new activity do address this need!
What does this activity include? It has a story for each month of the year. The stories are provided in color and black-and-white. You can even jump to that story from the table of contents page.
For each month, a Venn Diagram has been provided. This can help teach students to recognize what is being compared and to write down important details so they do not forget them. This graphic organizer has been provided also in color and black-and-white.
I also provided sorting cards for students struggling to find the important data to complete the Venn diagrams. This will be helpful to teach and model how to use this graphic organizer for this goal. As students comprehend the skill, fade away these sorting cards. You can also use them for students to check their work!
For each story, a comprehension questions worksheet has been provided. Questions are a mix of literal and inferential questions. Students will need to understand the text as a whole as well as the similarities/differences in order to answer the 4 questions provided on each worksheet.
You can access this activity in my TpT store by clicking HERE!
