Looking for a fun way to get your students up and moving around? Keep reading to learn how I used a fun Etsy purchase and turned it into a DIY idea!
I grabbed these fun leaf bean bags from Dean Trout's Little Shop of Crafts on Etsy. I also grabbed some paper plates from the dollar store!
I wrote my target on the plates. For this group, I was working on WH questions so I wrote "who" and "what" on two of the plates. I even drew a little visual aid. I used a permanent marker to write on the plates.
Students got to stand behind a line and toss (underhand!) the leaf bean bags and try and get them to land on the plates. The plate they landed on OR was the closest to indicated which type of WH question they had to respond to. If they got the bean bag on the actual plate, they got a bonus point.
Don't have room in your therapy room? You can do this as a push in activity OR use the hallway! My students loved getting up and moving around. They needed that brain break! I got so much language out of this lesson! Not only did they answer questions, my students had to request a turn, tell their peers that it was their turn, follow directions, and pretend play.
I highly recommend checking out these bean bags! My students loved them and I plan to use them so much more this fall season!
